Well, as things settle down and fall into place, here is a little update: Jane has been transferred to CHOC and the nicu team is taking perfect care of her. She will be in the hospital for several weeks while the doctors continue to monitor her heart and decide what should happen next and when. I have not been able to see her yet, but about 3 weeks ago I was given a doll to sleep with so that it would soak up my smell. Daniel says she is cuddling with it right now.
I am doing well, just slowly recovering and getting feeling back into my body. I will be in the hospital for at least 4 days. I’m so excited for the opportunity to eat, it’s been just about 24 hours since I’ve had anything to eat or drink…parenting has begun!
Lastly, I would like to thank ALL of you from the depths of my heart for the continued prayers, love, and support! From the very beginning of this journey (beginning on Nov 8, 2011) Daniel and I have witnessed God’s mercy, His unending & unconditional love, and His faithfulness- O how we would be lost without Him! If it weren’t for God and the huge family of believers He has blessed us with we never would have been able to bear this. Nonetheless, this has been an amazing journey, I’m thankful for all of it, and cannot wait for what’s to come.
Blessings to everyone!
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS! I AM PRAYING FOR YOU, DANIEL AND LITTLE JANE!
WE JUST MADE SOUP SO WHEN YOU GET HOME I WILL BRING YOU SOME TO EAT AND MY MOM ALSO MADE SOME AMAZING RYE BREAD IF YOU WANT ANY!!
IS THERE ANYWAY WE CAN COME VISIT YOU AND JANE??
Hi Elisabeth, My heart goes out to you and I just can’t wait for you to be able to hold your precious baby in your arms, to love her, and cuddle her, and see her smile. Praying for you and for you to be all together as a new little family SOON. Love to you!
You just made me cry reading about the doll little Jane is cuddling with… that is so precious. I’m sure Jane feels so comforted and loved by having your scent with her. That’s awesome how the doctors knew to do that for her. I wish I was still volunteering at CHOC, I would have seen you guys last night. Hopefully you can have visitors soon. I would love to see you and meet your precious daughter.
I feel the same as Lisa, crying about Jane holding the doll. Constant prayers for you, Daniel, Jane, the doctors, nurses, your family. God is watching over you and holding you all, Jesus is standing by your side. Soon you will be able to see and hold your precious blessing Jane in your arms. So many people love you and are praying for you like your post said.
Congratulations you guys, and thank you Lord for bringing baby Jane into the world!! We will continue to keep all three of you in our thoughts and prayers. I remember how hard it was to not be able to take Elias home right away, so I really feel for you both, but especially you Mama!! I hope you get to hold your little baby girl soon, if you haven’t already. Both of you try to rest up and take care of yourselves so you can be there all strong and healthy for your beautiful Jane.
Elisabeth & Daniel, congrats on your beautiful daughter. Many prayers from our home to yours (and the prayers for the doctors who are taking care of your precious creation). Your blog just brings so much joy to my heart, I can already see what loving parents you both are. God Bless.
