    Psalm 121:
    1I lift my head up to the hills-
    from where will my help come?
    2My help comes from the Lord,
    who made the heaven and earth.
    3He will not let your foot be moved;
    he who keeps you will not slumber.
    4He who keeps Isreal
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
    5The Lord is your keeper;
    the Lord is your shade at your
    right hand.
    6The sun shall not strike you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
    7The Lord will keep you from all evil;
    he will keep your life.
    8The Lord will keep
    your going out and your coming in
    from this time on and forever more.

    2nd Corinthians–12:9&10
    And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in mt infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
    Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distress for Christ’s sake: FOR WHEN I AM WEAK THEN I AM STRONG.

    We are ALL praying for your family & for Gods will to be done. PLEASE remember that God is always with us & He will NEVER leave your family’s side, HE WILL CARRY YOU.

    Psalm 37:3-7
    “3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture, 4 delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
    5 Commit your way unto the Lord and trust in Him and He will do this….7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him..”

  4. Remember at your house prayer, god told you he is with you and hears your prayers and LOVES this child… This sucks Elisabeth. But he is right there, in that room, with and beside you, Daniel and Jane… and we are all right there with you hun. I love you and stay strong for Jane! and let’s get through tomorrow!

    God already knew that Jane would be born and the challenges she would face. He already knew there would be a decision to go to Stanford. What can we do as mere mortals when we don’t have control/a choice? 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you”. How do you know that God loves your family? Romans 5:8 “But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us”.
    How can you find peace? Psalm 62: 5 For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. and 2 Thessalonians:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.”
    Know that God is almighty! Genesis 35:11 “God said to him, ‘I am God Almighty;…’” God is so powerful and before Jane was born, He had a plan for her. Psalms 139:13 For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb and Job 42:1-2 ‘Then Job answered the Lord: “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”’ God is in control of everything, and knows everything. When we can’t do anything, we can only pray. Know that God’s plan will be done. Psalm 46:1-3; 10 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult… “Be still, and know that I am God!”…

    Oh Elisabeth, I am so sorry! But we have all been praying for the doctors and if they think this is what is best we need to trust them. Even though we can’t physically be there with you, there is a multitude of people praying for sweet Jane. We know God hears our prayers and we know this is all part of His plan. You and Daniel must continue to lean on Him and on each other. We love you!

    DanielandElisabeth we are so sorry! We have all been praying fervently for the health and well-being of your family. Like Leah said, let’s trust in the wise counsel of these doctors as we wait upon the mercy and grace of our Lord. We all know that none of us has been in your shoes or walked your path, but we all care so much for you and your baby. God, pour out your grace and mercy on Daniel and Elisabeth. Let them know you are near. Let them know you hear their cries! We love you!

  8. Daniel and Fetha I’m so sorry to hear this news. I wish I as right there with you guys to give you both a big hug. I’m going to give you some words that are from a song called “Times” by Tenth Avenue North. It isn’t Scripture but these words are so comforting and constantly remind me that God knows our pains, feels our heartache, loves us unconditionally, and won’t ever leave our side. Take these words like God is speaking directly to you:

    “My love is over, It’s underneath, It’s inside, It’s in between,
    The times you doubt Me, when you can’t feel.
    The times that you question, ‘Is this for real?’
    The times you’re broken, the times that you mend.
    The times that you hate Me, and the times that you bend.
    Well, My love is over, it’s underneath, It’s inside, it’s in between,
    These times you’re healing, and when your heart breaks.
    The times that you feel like you’re falling from grace.
    The times you’re hurting, The times that you heal.
    The times you go hungry, and are tempted to steal.
    The times of confusion, in chaos and pain.
    I’m there in your sorrow, under the weight of your shame.
    I’m there through your heartache, I’m there in the storm.
    My love I will keep you, by My power alone.
    I don’t care where you fall, or where you have been.
    I’ll never forsake you, My love never ends.
    It never ends.”

    I love you guys and we are praying for God’s mercy for you and baby Jane.

    Daniel and Elisabeth, My heart is aching for both of you… This brings back memories for me, as I read your blog I can’t help but cry. I know your pain, there are many of us who have gone through similar situations and I hope we can help in any way. I know the fear when the phone rang. As we entered NICU our hearts would be beating so fast, the unknowing, the fear of what is going to happen today. Elisabeth, you have heard my story many years ago, you were my co-counselor at camp. My son crashed approx. 4 times, at 3 days old he needed open heart surgary, 50/50 chance of survival. We called the preacher to pray, BUT we did not pray for what WE WANTED, we had him pray for GOD’S WILL! We put the whole thing in God’s hands. We let him decide Matthew’s fate. We decided that no matter which way it went, that is what God wanted, how could we go wrong. Lord, where are you? He is carrying both of you during the hard times, just remember the “Footprints” poem. He is the strength that is getting you out of bed. He is the strength that is keeping you by Jane’s side. He is the strength that will keep you and Daniel strong for Jane’s sake. Hang on to the Lord and hang on to Daniel. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” You have a long road ahead of you, I pray that the Lord will guide you with all your decisions, that he gives both of you strength and comfort. I pray for all the doctors that are going to be in Jane’s life, that the Lord guides them. I Pray for God’s Will upon Jane, because we can’t go wrong there. God Bless all of you….. Love, Gail Buchnoff

    D&E, you don’t know me but my good friend Manya Keseloff asked if I could help you find a place to stay in Palo Alto as you come for your precious daughter’s surgery. I was able to make some phone calls and found something for you, at least for a couple of nights. But I want to give you my phone number in case you need anything. It’s a foreign land to you and I would really love to help you in any way you might need. 925-413-4563. I used to live near there so I can give recommendations, directions, etc. But most importantly I will be praying for sweet Jane that she remains strong and hangs in there. Ill be praying that you both are continually filled with the peace and comfort that can only come from our Father above, that you continue to rely on Him, and that you remember that Jesus is right there with you, EVERY step of the way. He weeps when you weep, laughs with your joys, and carries you when you cannot walk. Be strong brother and sister. And please don’t hesitate to ask if you need anything while at Stanford. I’m not far.

    Oh Elizabeth, I can hear your mama’s heart for your precious daughter, and your fears for her. The Lord hears you, He truly is right beside you and He has everything under His control, even when He seems far away. Will you still trust Him? Will you surrender everything over to Him? Will you still love Him, even if things don’t go as you desire? I know this is really really hard, not what you were praying for, and its so hard to comprehend why God would allow all of this. Nevertheless, His love for Jane, for you and Daniel is unfailing and neverending – His word promises this, and our God is not a lier or deceiver. Keep hanging onto Him, together with Daniel. May the Lord go before you, make the way straight and unhindered. May He work through the doctors hands, give them clear vision and wisdom for each decision, and may Jane’s heart be healed. We’re praying daily for Jane, for you and for Daniel, as well as Jane’s medical team.
